ABOUT MICHELLE

When asked as a young girl what I wanted to be when I grew up, I'd say I wanted to be an actress. Now, I'll tell you that when I grow up (which is a long way off still!) I want to be a leader, an Olympian, an artist, a nomad, a late-night partier, a Nobel Laureate, a mother, a world traveler, an agent of change, a sky-diver, a writer, a sports-team owner, a gourmet-food connoisseur, a therapist, a gardener, a home-owner, and the list goes on. But I'm an actress, and I feel that being an actress means being all those other things.

I believe acting ability and compassion go hand in hand. For me, acting is a chance to empathize with others, whether they are living, dead, real or imagined. I am an intellectual and use human psychology and reason to theorize about a character. But I am also passionate and creative and know that some things must be left up to intuition. One of my greatest strengths is my immense passion. Emerson once said, "passion rebuilds the world for the youth. It makes all things alive and significant." I feel the actor must do the same.

I have done some amazing things in my life so far. I'm immensely grateful for what I've accomplished at such a young age. I have a wonderful family, including some furry brothers and sisters I love to death. I compete and train horses in three day eventing and dressage, and I'm addicted to the thrill of flying over jumps at a flat out gallop on my horse. I speak Spanish, Portuguese, and English. I've lived in Spain and Australia, traveled all over Europe, and have friends on every continent (except Antarctica, but I'd love to befriend a penguin!). I've street-luged down a mountain in New Zealand, and saved a baby horse from the slaughterhouse. Though there are many things I still have yet to accomplish, but I've had so much fun so far, and I'm so lucky to have done so much!
